Old Dominion is currently recruiting for an Operations Manager. This role will successfully direct and manage supervisors and all other staff and crew to productively handle work load. Responsible for hiring of hourly employees, dock, and drivers. On-going processing of claims prevention and training. Responsible for scheduling of, direction of, and preparing for monthly dock and driver meetings. Accountable for daily monitoring of production, load average, and the overall service and efficiency of the shift they are assigned to.
Staffing to goal to meet volume of work.
Provide direct leadership to supervisor staff
Manage daily operations and insure maximum service center efficiency
Focus on load plans from origin terminals monitoring cause and effect.
Conduct Safety and Claims meetings with all staff and verify attendance
Work continually to develop and improve service center staff
Communicating goals, issues, and company news to service center staff
Achieving and maintain goals set by the Company and Service Center Manager
Monitor results of each supervisor and provide feedback and coaching as needed
Insure a safe work environment
Track and verify service center maintenance is completed
High School Diploma required. Some college preferred.
Two years Operational Management/Supervision experience required 5+ years’ experience preferred.
Working knowledge of AS400, Windows; thorough knowledge of internal systems such as the Dock Yard Management System and the BLU computer systems in each truck
