American Airlines Specialist/Senior Specialist, Flight Operations Technician in Ft Worth, Texas

Job Description

  • Research and track changes to U.S. and Foreign regulations applicable Operations Specifications, and FAA policies as published in Order 8900.1 which may affect American Airlines Flight Operations

  • Research, Analyze, Interpret, and Apply Federal Aviation Regulations

  • Assist in the completion of domestic and foreign regulatory agency compliance audits

  • Update and coordinate FAA approval of American Airlines Operation Specifications

  • Issue and track flight Plan messages (J8, F4) and pilot email (P2)

  • Coordinate with Integrated Operations Center (IOC), Operations Engineering (OE), and Airport Operations personnel to develop flight operations information for scheduled and unscheduled operations/charters, FAA proving flight, and validation flights

  • Coordinate with Fleet Specialist to ensure Operating Manual content complies with all U.S. Regulations, American Airlines Operations Specifications, and guidance in FAA Order 8900.1

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum BA or BS degree in Aviation related field or equivalent experience

  • Extensive experience in Aviation Safety or Regulatory Compliance

  • Experience and Knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations

  • Knowledge of FAA Operations, policies and procedures including 8900.1 guidance

  • In depth Knowledge of 14CFR Part 91 and 121 regulations

  • Excellent analytical and organizational Skills

  • Excellent communication skills (Speaking, Reading, and Writing)

  • Ability to manage time and multiple tasks effectively including Project Management

  • Strong research, critical thinking, and attention to detail
