Project Operations Manager

The Project Operations Manager will manage all aspects of project deployment from the delivery of completed designs through successful delivery and installation to clients. Reporting to the Project Operations Manager will be Project Managers, Service Manager, Assembly and Installation technicians. This role is responsible to ensure that we deliver what was committed, when it was committed, with expected quality and within budget.

Essential Functions

  • Manage Project deployments included serve as a Project Manager as needed:

  • Manage project scope, execution, goals, and deliverables through the entire delivery process, i.e. from receipt of the Purchase Order to the transition to customer support

  • Understand, communicate, and ensure commitments as reflected in any RFP, contracts, proposals, statements of work or other documents including post installation commitments under Maintenance and Support

  • Proactively manage changes in project scope

  • Identify, communicate, address and resolve risks and issues within the project including escalating issues, when appropriate

  • Communicate tasks required from the customer and ensure timely completion prior to onsite installation

  • Estimate the resources and elicit support from team members needed to achieve project goals

  • Manage expenses within budget

  • Work with Administration as billable milestones are completed

  • Build, develop, and grow any business relationships vital to the success of the project

  • Verify that the solution design is in keeping with the contractual commitment and the SOW

  • Develop initial project plan in cooperation with the customer using MS Project Server and SharePoint

  • Track all project tasks by daily updates to the project plan (completed and/or scheduled changes)

  • Communicate and Document any updates or changes to the project plan to team and the customer, as appropriate

  • Establish periodic project status calls with the customer and tracking any action items to closure. Share call notes

  • Provide weekly internal project status reports to management and project team members

  • Provide technical project details to team members

  • Provide current and future task schedules

  • Ensure that all team members execute and document their tasks in a timely manner

  • Evaluate need for subcontractors based on the project complexity, budget, internal resources

  • Coordinate with Administration during subcontractor selection process

  • Coach, mentor, motivate and supervise project team members and contractors, and influence them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work

  • Manage project closeout process

  • Conduct project post-mortems; identify, communicate and implement process improvements

  • Develop best practices and tools for project execution and management including tracking process improvements to complete implementation

  • Represent with the clients, consultants, contractors, sub-contractors, vendors, and technical service representatives

  • Identify and resolve issues that will impact projects and the department schedule

  • Coordinate efforts with Client Support

  • Create and maintain effective processes for all phases of project deployment, including engineering and training

  • Manage the assembly process to ensure efficient and quality building of products

  • Ensure Projects are delivered on schedule and within budget

  • Lead and motivate department staff and cross-functional teams

  • Assist with design, development, and specification of materials and components for use in Company products

  • Coordinate and manage department project schedules and work assignments

  • Manage the installation technicians, scheduling and assigning technicians to meet project goals stablish metrics to effectively assess processes and performance within the department

  • Work to continuously improve processes to meet company goals

  • Manage and develop all staff. Working with each staff member on their personal development goals

  • Other duties as assigned

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of networking and LAN system requirements.

  • Proficient with MS Windows Server, Microsoft SQL Server, Sharepoint, enterprise web and client applications and MS Office suite including Microsoft Project.

  • Able to communicate effectively with all levels of company personnel.

  • Experience leading multiple complex projects.

  • Expertise in project management discipline and techniques.

  • Ability to lead and motivate cross-functional teams.

  • Ability to manage employees to bring out the best in them to meet company goals.

  • Strong team building skills.

  • Travel requirement 20%

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • College Degree or relevant job experience required

  • Minimum of five years experience in project management

  • Prior experience as a manager in relevant jobs and industry

  • Experience in reading architectural drawings

  • A/V,IT and networking technology background required

  • Crestron control systems experience a plus
