The Patient Access Revenue Cycle Operations Manager will provides daily operational oversight and leadership for revenue cycle activities including patient access, billing, collections and the financial counseling activities. This position will reside in a local hospital facility and report to the System Director of Patient Access, but support multiple teams in the Emergency and Outpatient areas.

In order to be successful, this person needs to have leadership experience with extensive ownership over their respective departments. As a leader, this person will be the dedicated resource to manage daily operations.

Your day to day role will include:

  • Manages staff to include assignment of work, evaluating, coaching, hiring and terminating.

  • Assists with developing goals, standards, policies, procedures and objectives that directly support the strategic plan and vision of the organization.

  • Consults with facility administration on workflow and site-departmental goals and progress.

  • Interfaces with outside vendors including contract negotiations and third party billing.

  • Monitors budgets, regulatory compliance, and contract and vendor relationships.

  • Manages revenue valuation quarterly reviews performed by auditors.

  • Develops revenue valuation recommendations for management.

  • Providing site operations deployment support by assisting with development and project plans; building and standardizing workstreams.

  • Administering, delegating, and monitoring Patient Access and Business office work, ensuring tools are in place, claims have been effectively examined, and workforce management/staffing is at an appropriate level for the departments.

  • Proactively addressing/mitigating workflow risk management issues and working with site leadership teams on resolution.

You Have:

  • Must have Bachelor's degree

  • At least three years of revenue cycle experience within medical environment

  • Background in medical billing

  • Must have experience work in patient access departments

  • At least three years of leadership experience

  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a self-directed capacity

  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment with a solutions driven mentality

  • Experience in a data driven work culture

  • Ability to dive into the details of the work as business and support needs dictate with the idea that team support promotes success

  • Must have extensive knowledge of medical software and experience using MS Office products

  • Exemplary organizational skills

It would be great if you also have:

  • Leadership in Patient Access

  • Certified Healthcare Access Manager (CHAM) certification
