Clim-A-Tech Industries Inc Extrusion Operator in Eden Prairie, Minnesota

Position Summary: Monday - Friday, all 3 shifts available. Uses general hand tools to set up, run, troubleshoot and tear down plastic extrusion lines. Mixes materials. Uses a variety of measurement and inspection equipment to document and determine proper configuration and performance of our product. Operate powered off line fabrication equipment (punches, drills, routers, etc.). Packages and palletizes finished product. General housekeeping. Responsible for executing all processing activities on an extrusion line. Principal Duties and Responsibilities: Work as a team with Supervisor and co-workers to achieve company goals and objectives. Ensures that all materials are staged in a timely manner to execute production. This includes resins for primary and secondary extruders, colorant and packaging. Ensures that all set-ups and teardowns are performed efficiently. Follow specific operating procedures, guidelines and instructions. Properly cleaning, protecting and storing of all extrusion tooling. String up extrusion lines and get profiles to print. Troubleshoot extrusion lines and assist other line operators as needed. Read blue prints, follow quality requirements, measuring and documenting the quality of product being produced. Ensuring that all extrusions meet design specifications. Rigorous inspection of extrusions during processing is required. Accurately and thoroughly fill out all paperwork including maintenance work orders. Ensures all scrap materials are kept clean, properly sorted, labeled and staged without contamination. Label, package and palletized finished product as specified. Review job order and manufacturing process sheets to determine correct product labeling, packaging, crating and packaging arrangements. Prepares all required labels on thermal transfer printer located in shipping office. Adheres labels to finished product and completes the required shift and operator information in the appropriate fields. Obtains and prepares necessary cartons for product packaging, seals cartons with pneumatic staplers and tape. Constructs necessary skids and crates using provided materials and pneumatic fastening tools. Arranges finished product onto skids and crates as specified. Operate forklift as needed. Ensures that all dedicated tooling and tools are used appropriately and remains as designated on each extrusion line. General housekeeping of extrusion line and production areas. Keeping plant cleaned, organized, safe and items put away correctly in proper locations.
