Position Title Operating Engineer (Union) Auto Req ID 62777BR Job Description PLEASE NOTE: This is a UNION position (Local 70, AFL-CIO) OVERVIEW The Building Engineer will oversee the efficient operation of all building systems including critical Data Center operations. Also, responsible for tenant services, preventative, contracted and general maintenance, purchasing and inventory control of materials, and technical proficiency. The Building Engineer will also be responsible for the installation, maintenance and repair of all equipment, physical structures, piping, and life safety. Position requires that the individual be a self-starter, problem solver and interact well with all levels of employees and with all levels of building occupants. Position involves complex HVAC and building system troubleshooting and maintenance as well as general maintenance tasks. The standard hours for this position are: Sunday through Thursday 10:00 pm to 6:00 am; must be willing to work various shifts due to vacation coverage. Required to join the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local No. 70, AFL-CIO. REQUIREMENTS * High school diploma or equivalent * Boiler License required or ability to obtain one within 90 days of hire * 5 years minimum working experience * Data Center experience preferred * Trade School or apprentice program completion * CFC Certification required within 90 days of hire * Ability to work at heights, work in changing temperatures, and lift move and/or carry heavy (up to 70 pounds) objects * Ability to analyze the operation of the various systems, determine the cause of any problem/ malfunctions and corrective action * Ability to immediately recognize system shortcomings and respond to operational and emergency situations * Excellent communication skills (both written and oral) * Excellent interpersonal skills * Computer proficiency in MS Office Full/Part Time Full-Time Regula
