In addition, applicants who are selected for this position may be prohibited from transferring or bidding on another position once they accept this position.KEY ACCOUNTABILITIESUnder direct supervision of a Supervisor and frequently under the work direction of a Substation Operator: performs assigned maintenance and cleaning; assists with station substation inspections; reports conditions to the organizational unit operating authority; studies prints; attends formal classes; progressively learns the operation of stations substations; learns relay applications. Receives training and progressively learns to perform the duties of a Reserve Substation Operator. Must satisfactorily complete the Assistant Substation Operator formal classroom training program.Must satisfactorily complete the Substation Operator field training program.Qualifications1.) High School Diploma or GED.-- Must have successfully completed one year of at least high school level Mathematics which includes the fundamentals of Algebra, Geometry, and Trigonometry with a passing grade of a "C". If the course name on the transcript does not clearly identify Algebra, Geometry and Trigonometry, a school course description must be provided to verify the above math requirements!--OR--2.) An Associate's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering or Engineering Technology from a recognized college or university (PREFERRED) .--OR--3.) Satisfactory completion of two years of a four year Bachelor's of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering.-- Above qualification courses (#2 #3) should include: basic electrical power equipment and controls; concepts theory; electronics/electrical design; PC applications; and/or other related electrical applications and concepts.--OR--4.)
