The Navigant Consulting Healthcare Performance Excellence candidate will have experience in the healthcare industry, preferably in the area of performance improvement within Hospitals, Health Plans or Physician Groups. Specifically, the successful candidate will have expertise in manipulating data using Excel, Access and other spreadsheets, coordinating team work products, and the ability to lead teams.

The Director and thought leader in Clinical and Operational Excellence Practice will be responsible for developing and delivering solution clinical and operational excellence that provides value to our clients and profitable growth to the firm’s Healthcare Delivery Innovation Practice. The ideal candidate will bring extensive healthcare industry experience with a proven track record of delivering innovative clinical and strategic performance solutions to hospitals and health systems. This individual will lead and/or design, develop, and implement solutions to create high performing health care organizations design and lead a portfolio of critical consulting engagements at hospitals and health systems across the country.
The Director will participate in and drive business development and relationship management activities for Navigant Healthcare clients and prospects and provide leadership for structuring and integrating our current offerings to serve their needs. Finally, this individual will contribute to the firm’s continued development of leading-edge consulting, in the performance improvement service line.
This role will have responsibility for the following:
Will lead a comprehensive assessments of hospital operations and areas for improvement leading to a comprehensive redesign of client workflow and processes
Provide expertise to drive clinical excellence and the operational process to maximize quality care, productivity, clinical outcomes, clinician management, health system profitability and superior outcomes. Specific efforts in performance and quality metrics including adherence to best practice clinical guidelines, cost effective medicine and other quality indicators.
Ability to relate effectively and with the highest degree of credibility to health system C-suite executives in the context of business development, marketing and sales as well as service delivery
Manage across active engagements, strategize with consultant teams on project approach, facilitating communications, and managing risk Drive quality and standards of work product. Ensure superior engagement quality
Leverage the firm’s existing healthcare industry relationships and develop new relationships to develop new clients and expand existing client relationships, expand Navigant Healthcare brand and sales generated
A minimum of 15+ years of increasing responsibility in healthcare industry and /or consulting combined
Deep content expertise in hospital and integrated delivery system performance improvement specifically driving clinical excellence and the operational process to maximize quality care, productivity, clinical outcomes, clinician management, health system profitability and superior outcomes
Demonstrated track record in business development, client management and measurable results for clients in health care services
Proven experience developing senior level client relationships including current and prospective clients, ability to assess and define their needs, position relevant products and services to address their requirements and play a key role in securing new business for the firm
A high level of intelligence, strategic, analytical and conceptual skills; and a practical approach to problem solving and business growth
Outstanding written and oral communication skills including public speaking for large and small groups, the ability to leverage the written word in a clear, concise and compelling manner as a tool for communication and persuasion
Masters degree in business, healthcare administration or equivalent professional experience; RN or BSN degree highly preferred.
Comfort with ambiguity, a strong sense of confidence without arrogance, creative but practical, flexible but with a strong results orientation, appreciation for the importance of details but with a higher calling to advance strategic imperatives
Ability to travel routinely 15 + nights per month
Frequently communicates with clients and coworkers and must be able to share information effectively
Strong conceptual, as well as quantitative and qualitative analytical skills
Flexibility and responsiveness in managing multiple projects in sometimes high-pressure situations simultaneously
Self-motivator with ability to work independently
Plan, direct, and coordinate work activities of others
Frequently travels by airplane, train or car as necessary to perform work at another location
