Job Summary:

Ingersoll Rand's Enterprise Intern Program (EIP) provides college students with challenging assignments, leadership training and valuable exposure to our company's senior leaders. Through meaningful work projects, our interns are enabled to build diverse skill sets and a strong foundation for a successful and fulfilling career with Ingersoll Rand.

We’re looking for performance-driven, innovative leaders who understand the importance of collaboration and customer focus. Our 12-week summer intern program offers candidates working toward their Bachelor’s in Industrial Engineering, Industrial Distribution, or Supply Chain Management exposure to a variety assignments which could include: Waste elimination projects for manufacturing areas, Staffing planning and analysis, Manufacturing process improvement projects (Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma), Industrial engineering studies, Value Stream capability studies, Capital equipment expense requests.

Positions are available at many of our facilities including: Davidson, North Carolina, La Crosse, Wisconsin, Annandale, New Jersey, Tyler, Texas, Minneapolis, Minnesota, Mocksville, North Carolina, Kent, Washington and Augusta, Georgia just to name a few.

As we hire the majority of our full time positions through our intern & co-op talent, successful candidates will have an opportunity to interview for full-time positions with our post-graduate career tracks in the Accelerated Development Program, a leadership rotational program designed for the Operations function. We offer both Manufacturing and Supply Chain Management tracks. This program consists of one 1.5 year production facility assignment, and one 12-month corporate/sector sourcing assignment.

Operations ADPs will develop a solid operations foundation with skills in key areas including: Lean Production & Six Sigma, Planning Strategy, Operational Excellence, Ergonomics & Safety, Sourcing Cycle, Production Line Supervision, Supplier Quality Audits, Sales Inventory Operations Planning & Productivity Generation & Tracking. These assignments are strategically chosen to ensure continuous learning and personal development.

  • BS/BA in Industrial Engineering, Industrial Distribution, or Supply Chain Management
  • Overall 3.0 GPA or above
  • Demonstrated leadership skills (minimum of one example in the last four years such as: school club officer, sports team captain, resident advisor, etc. or exceptional leadership of work projects)
  • Work experiences (minimum of two functionally related internships or six months of experience, i.e. Co-op or work exp by graduation)
  • Willing to be mobile and relocate anywhere in the United States
  • Resiliency and ability to adapt quickly
  • Motivation to reach higher levels within the company at an accelerated rate
