MSA Safety Plant Operations Assistant in Cranberry Twp, Pennsylvania

MSA's Cranberry Plant is looking for a positive and energetic associate willing to work in a fast paced, ever changing work environment. The ability to multi-task is a must and always placing the customer first in every situation is imperative. We expect our plant operations assistant to provide administrative support, primarily to the Plant Manager, but also to others in the plant leadership team as required. Duties include gathering and analyzing data to support a variety of plant initiatives and reporting protocols, and various administrative support. Must be willing to spend time on the operations floor interacting with associates and project a professional demeanor and approach. Description of duties and responsibilities:

  • Schedule and organize meetings, travel, and other business activities as needed

  • Create and develop visual presentations, charts, tables, graphs, databases, etc.

  • Provide analysis, research, and development of data as requested.

  • Organize presentation materials as required.

  • Act as an administrator for special projects (Engineering Change Notice coordinator, Fastenal wall, etc.) and as a team member on plant projects.

  • Keep operational Hazmat and DOT filing current and accurate.

  • Create labels, reports, and place purchase orders to support plant operations.

  • Create and generate action items from Plant Operating Review, and other meetings as needed.

  • Data entry for existing databases and reports

  • Other duties as assigned

Special knowledge, skills and abilities required:

  • Exceptional organization, prioritization and time management skills

  • Excellent attention to detail a must

  • Must have demonstrated advanced proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Publisher and Lotus Notes., ERP systems (Oracle, SAP) a plus

  • Strong writing and communications skills are essential

  • Demonstrated ability to interact with others in a way that gives them confidence in own intentions and those of the organization

Education and experience required:

  • Associates Degree in Business or a related field

  • Minimum 4 years of business office experience with advanced software and computer skills

  • 1-2 years of data analysis experience in a manufacturing or logistics environment.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or a related field

  • 1-2 years of data analysis experience

  • 3-4 years of experience in a manufacturing or logistics environment
