AMETEK, Inc. Operations Manager in Costa Mesa, California
The Operations Manager will provide operational leadership and supervision to ensure a continual, efficient and uniform operation in order to exceed customer expectations in a safe and orderly manner. The Operations Manager will report to the Director of Operations.
This position will support the development of and implement plans to improve safety, quality, on-time delivery and equipment utilization while continually improving efficiencies within the operations. The position is directly responsible for Manufacturing Engineering and Production Operations. The functions necessary in order to be successful include, but are not limited to the following:
Promote a zero-injury culture. Ensure proper PPE is worn by all employees and visitors. Continuously implement proactive safety measures. . Actively participate on the Safety Committee and coordinate with EHS consultants to ensure a safe and efficient work environment that complies with government regulations.
Ensure Production produces quality products that meet all customer requirements.
Meet all customer commitments by maintaining a best-in-class on-time delivery rating while keeping overtime to a minimum.
Minimize scrap and waste in all processes.
Assist in the identification of key areas for cost reduction and utilize resources to drive waste elimination and reduce costs while increasing capacity.
Establish operational goals and maintain the continuous improvement process in order to achieve these goals.
Oversee the facilities and equipment maintenance program to ensure continuous operation of all equipment while minimizing maintenance expenses .
Develop new capital equipment proposals to support growth plans, enhance quality, capabilities, and efficiency.
Assist with customer problems, including on-site visits where necessary.
Purchase or directs the purchase of necessary production and warehouse supplies to support production.
Implement preventive and corrective actions to eliminate or correct procedures and practices which do not meet internal or customer requirements.
Hire, train, motivate, and mentor employees.
Perform employee reviews as required.
Continuously improve operational procedures.
Support multi-plant improvement efforts and standardization projects.
Other operational duties as requested.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Business and 10 years experience, in a high-tech state-of-the- art assembly-manufacturing environment.
Required: Good leadership, interpersonal, and supervisory skills and the ability to set goals.
Training and extensive experience in Lean and Six Sigma.
Frequent talking, keyboarding, walking, standing, stooping, lifting (up to 50 lbs).
