NuScale Power Limited Duration ISV Plant Operator – Licensed Operator in Corvallis, Oregon
POSITION SUMMARY: The Integrated System Validation (ISV) Plant Operator will complete a rigorous training program consisting of approximately seven months of classroom and simulator training to gain an in-depth knowledge of the NuScale plant systems, conduct of operations, and operating and casualty procedures. This training program is similar in scope to a commercial nuclear plant Senior Reactor Operator certification program and will include a final written and operating (simulator) exam. Following successful completion of training, the ISV Operator will perform as an operating crew member in the ISV testing of the NuScale 12-unit power plant control room design. The ISV Plant Operator will apply human factor tools, operating experience, a strong nuclear safety culture, sound operational knowledge, techniques and practices to the NuScale ISV testing. ISV testing includes several full-scope simulator exam scenarios. An ISV Plant Operator cannot have been involved in the NuScale human-system interface design. As a minimum, this position is for the duration of ISV training and testing which is scheduled for approximately one year in duration. All training and testing will be performed at the NuScale offices in Corvallis, Oregon. This position may include a minor amount of shift work.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supports the goal of successful completion of NuScale’s ISV testing. This is accomplished by completion of prescribed training and rigorous application of knowledge and standards in the performance of ISV testing.
Understands and applies expert level knowledge of nuclear power plant operational principles, techniques, and practices to support the Human Factors Engineering Verification and Validation per NUREG-0711, Human Factors Engineering Program Review Model.
Participates and supplies constructive feedback to the ISV training program.
Participates and supplies constructive feedback to the ISV testing program.
Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS AND ABILITIES:
- Qualifications:* Currently or previously licensed operator at a commercial nuclear power plant
Experience: Minimum two years’ experience operating on crew in commercial nuclear power.
Industry Requirements:* Eligible to work under Department of Energy 10 CFR Part 810.
Overall Job Knowledge and Performance: In-depth understanding of nuclear concepts, principles, and theories including nuclear power plant operations and maintenance. In-depth understanding of engineering concepts, principles, theories. Good communication and interpersonal skills.
