Ethicon, Inc., a member of the Johnson & Johnson Family of Companies, is recruiting for an Anode Operator (3rd Shift) in Cornelia, Georgia.

The Ethicon Surgical Care business offers a broad range of products, platforms and technologies—including sutures, surgical staplers, clip appliers, trocars and synthetic mesh devices—that are used in a wide variety of minimally invasive and open surgical procedures. Specialties include support for treatment of colorectal and thoracic conditions, women’s health conditions, hernias, cancer and obesity. The Ethicon Surgical Care business combines products and services of two market-leading legacy companies, both with long histories of medical innovation. Anode Operator responsibilities include:

  • Start-up, monitor, process, troubleshoot, and maintain all anode, cleaning, Siliconizing, and Curing Machinery for Ethicon Cornelia site under the direction of the manufacturing facilitators while adhering to all quality and Safety requirements

  • Electro-polish all needle types using anodes

  • Mix chemicals for blackening and blacken needles

  • Process electro-polished needles through cleaning, siliconizing, and curing

  • Perform weekly Preventative Maintenance

  • Perform required attributes and variable testing of needles

  • Utilize CIM and MRP system

  • Work in team environment behaving in a CREDO based respectful manner

  • Comply with all federally regulated programs, J&J environmental and safety policies and guidelines, quality system requirements as defined within procedures and instructions, and all job specific safety procedures

  • Utilize PPE when necessary

  • Use microscope and scale as required

  • Utilize applicable software systems as needed for the job (e.g. ComplianceWire, ADAPTIV, etc.)

  • Consistently meet required work performance targets (RE’s), if applicable

  • Support LEAN and Six Sigma Initiatives

  • Support Maintenance Excellence (ME2) including 6S and Operator Asset Care

  • Accurately complete records as defined within the job procedures (e.g. manual and/or electronic documentation)

  • Assist process engineers and facilitators in trouble shooting and process improvement activities

  • Support the Plant Diversity Process

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required

  • 2+ years of related / relevant experience required

  • Anode electro-polishing experience preferred

  • Chemical safety training or general chemical knowledge preferred

  • Basic computer proficiency required including MS office

  • Must be able to perform all functions of the job by using CIM (internal manufacturing program - Computer Integrated Manufacturing) and Ethicon computer systems

  • Good communication and interpersonal relation skills required

  • Analytical problem solving skills required

  • Ability to work in a stressful fast paced environment required

  • Good math skills required including addition, subtraction, division, percentages, decimals, and fractions; Must pass math test as part of the selection process

  • mechanical aptitude required

  • Must be willing and able to meet the physical demands of the job which include lifting/carrying up to 30lbs, lifting from ground to knees/waist/shoulders/overhead and waist to shoulders/overhead, overhead work including pulling, pushing, and reaching, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive hand motions

  • Vision screening includes far point acuity, near point acuity, peripheral vision, depth perception, color perception/distinction with blacks and reds

  • Must be willing and able to work the 3rd shift (10:45pm – 7:15am Monday – Friday) and overtime as needed which may include nights and holidays
