VMware Senior Revenue Operations Analyst (6 Month Contract) in Cork, Ireland

This position is open specific to the NRS project. The NRS project is a Tier1 project focused on implementing the new ASC606 revenue guidance. The project has high executive management visibility and is scheduled to release on October 6, 2017 and run parallel through our Q4’18, ending February 2, 2018. This person will focus their efforts to help achieve the various goals associated with this project. VMware is a rapidly growing company with opportunity for learning and professional advancement.

The Responsibilities are as follows:

  • Participate and execute test scripts and data migration efforts, validating accurate results are achieved in the system and reporting results

  • Perform procedures to achieve accurate system recast results

  • Analysis on system recast results

  • Preparing manual calculations to recast the FY2016-FY2018 financials that reflect the 606 accounting results

  • Ad Hoc duties related to the NRS Tier1 project

Position Requirements:

  • Preferred: Accounting Technician, Part-Qualified or Qualified Accountant

  • 2-5 years’ experience in a finance/analyst role

  • Preferred: 1+ years revenue accounting experience

  • Preferred: Knowledge of ASC606, 605, EITF 01-09, SOP 97-2 and related TPAs, SOP 98-9, SAB 101 and 104, EITF 00-21 and other accounting rules relating to software and services revenue recognition

  • Ability to quickly understand new accounting and system rules and logic

  • Ability to organize and prioritize responsibilities effectively in order to meet deadlines

  • Ability to problem solve with high attention to detail

  • Ability to work effectively with a wide variety of people; strong communication skills, both written and oral

  • Strong initiative and drive to see tasks through to completion

  • Solid PC skills with excellent Excel skills

  • Preferred: Oracle or similar ERP system experience
