Huntington National Bank Operational Risk Specialist in Columbus, Ohio
The Operational Risk Specialist will be responsible for assisting in the collection, tracking, analysis, reporting and maintenance of key operational risk data to include operational losses and Key Risk Indicators/Key Performance Indicators (KRIs/KPIs). Additionally, the position will work closely with the Operational Risk Director to implement corporate operational risk strategies. .
Assist in the execution of the Bank's Operational Risk management (ORM) Framework.
Monitor Operational Risk trends; provide analysis of loss data and other operational risk data.
Identify current and emerging risk trends and escalate as appropriate, including recommending solutions for negative trends.
Support the enhancement of ORM framework including the development of scorecards and dashboards.
Management of operational loss data and reporting to support capital planning and capital adequacy processes.
Participate in industry forums/groups related to operational risk and operational loss data collection.
Participate and/or lead working groups and subcommittee discussions to address and resolve issues.
Assist with identifying and testing enhancements to Huntington's Enterprise Risk Management System to support loss data collection and other core Operational Risk Management programs.
Monitor changes in the regulatory environment related to operational risk.
Provide assistance and training to the business units on Operational Risk Management policies, procedures and guidance.
Assist with preparation of meeting materials, drive agenda items and keep minutes and other documentation for the Operational Loss Mitigation Subcommittee.
Participate in corporate risk projects as needed.
At the senior level, work independently on risk projects and provide subject matter expertise and guidance to Risk Management specialists.
At the senior level, assist with quality review and certification of operational loss regulatory reporting schedules (FR Y-14Q, FR Y-14A) and data consortium reporting.
Minimum 1 - 3 years of experience in an operational risk, risk management, audit, or compliance role that required independent analysis and resolution of complex issues.
Bachelor's Degree preference: Business field
Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
Experience demonstrating ability to work independently and as part of a team to manage multiple assignments, resolve issues and meet deadlines.
Strong written/verbal communications skills.
Experience with Basel II operational loss classification and preparing FR Y-14A and FR Y-14Q schedules preferred.
