Verizon Operational Assurance Senior Analyst in Colorado Springs, Colorado

What you’ll be doing...

The Operational Assurance - Data Risk Management team partners with stakeholders across global cross-functional areas including IT, Systems, Operations, Legal, Compliance, Finance and Audit to ensure Verizon Enterprise has the processes and controls to comply with various initiatives such as EU Data Privacy/General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), ISO 9000/27001, SSAE18/SOC2, PCI DSS, Cyber Security, etc.

This position will support the overall Governance, Risk & Compliance framework, including, but not limited to, process documentation (e.g., risk and control matrices, narratives, workflows, etc.) related to the operating environment, systems and security; risk assessment/gap analysis; control evaluation and testing methodologies; issue management, remediation plans; monitoring implementation; tracking KPIs; reporting results; and ensuring sustainability of processes going forward.

Key Responsibilities are:

Risk Management - Manage and harmonize risk management activities focused on data security, governance and information management.

Compliance - Ensure compliance with internal policies, relevant contract/agreements and all legal and regulatory requirements in accordance with compliance plan.

Governance - Ensure that critical management information reaching the executive team is sufficiently complete, accurate and timely to enable appropriate management decision making.

What we’re looking for...

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Information Systems, Business highly preferred

  • Four or more years of relevant work experience

  • Global risk and compliance experience, including internal/external auditing

  • Knowledge and working experience of eGRC tools and technology

  • Detail-oriented, excellent follow through, ability to multi-task, manage projects in a collaborative environment

  • Self-starter with the ability to interact with a wide range of stakeholders

  • Superior presentation and influencing skills supported by strong written and oral communication skills.

  • Strong strategic and problem-solving skills; goal and solutions-oriented

  • High level of customer focus; highly developed conflict management skills

  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

Ideally, you’ll also have:

  • Project management experience

  • Experience developing and managing training programs

  • Expert using Microsoft Office for project management and presentations

  • Global telecommunications industry knowledge

  • Relevant professional certifications (CIA, CISA, CISSP, CISM, ITIL, IGP and/or CRMA)
