Primary Overview of Position:

Under the guidance of the department’s team leaders, the Digital Specialist position will be responsible for the digital presence and voice for the Cavaliers Operating Company Franchise Properties – the Cleveland Gladiators of the Arena Football League and Cleveland Monsters of the American Hockey League – by leveraging team-related digital platforms to advance year-round engagement across the organization’s online network, helping to achieve organizational goals.


  • Develop, maintain and update team content calendars that supports and extends initiatives across the organization, while using analytics to optimize content type and publish schedule

  • Establish and execute creative and innovative digital campaigns to support organization initiatives including but not limited to corporate partnerships, merchandise, ticket sales and team (football and hockey) operations.

  • Facilitate communication between organizational teams and departments to help provide digital support for team initiatives

  • Work in conjunction with the VP of Marketing and Communications to assist with team digital advertising efforts leveraging both internal and external channels including but not limited to digital display & retargeting, email marketing, and paid social

  • Consistently meet, work with and develop strong relationships with department leaders from each franchise by being engaged and involved with team initiatives. Will have finger on the pulse of these initiatives and will activate and bring these plans these plans on our digital channels though proactive thinking, creativity and innovation.

  • Routinely assist with creation, curation and sharing of written-, image-, audio- and video-based content for team websites and social media channels

  • Oversee coverage and real-time social media updates from team accounts

  • Ensure all content is on brand, consistent in style, quality and voice

  • Produce online and social reports for key organizational stakeholders

  • Help oversee franchise properties’ digital seasonal assistants

  • Availability to work days, nights, weekends and holidays

  • Other duties as assigned


  • Ability to communicate effectively with multiple audiences

  • Superior attention to detail and proof-reading experience

  • Must be organized, highly motivated and team-oriented

  • Experience producing written, video, audio and graphic content

  • Experience creating, posting and sharing content across current digital platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, Snapchat, etc.

  • Working knowledge with HTML and Adobe Web Premium programs such as: Photoshop, Adobe Premiere or related video editing platform

  • Ability to thrive in fast-paced, deadline-oriented workplace

  • Effective leadership and communication skills needed to help guide digital team priorities

  • Maturity, professionalism, and a strong work ethic are essential

  • Possess an overall positive attitude while managing multiple digital projects across different franchises and departments. Will need to provide clear communication, direction and leadership on a daily basis to members of team and team leaders
