With 170 beds, and more than 1,500 employees, we offer a variety of medical services including diagnostic imaging, orthopedics, robotic surgery, urology, women's services, and our cardiac catheterization laboratory.

Essential Functions

*Participates as a member of the peri-operative nursing team.

*Transports patient, specimen and equipment.

*Maintains OR sanitation and assistance with maintenance of unit supply levels.

*Cleans stretchers, OR tables, equipment and rooms.

*Assists the RN and anesthetist in transporting postoperative patients to the recovery unit.

*Conveys and receives information in a timely manner.

*Stocks operating room with supplies.

*Verifies count and stocks supplies (warmers, cabinets, bovies, rooms, linen and bags).

*Transports patient specimens, cultures, blood and body fluids to pathology, radiology and the laboratory.

*Provides assistance with moving and lifting patients, supplies and equipment.

*Reports defective material or equipment to supervisor.

*Under the direct supervision of the RN and anesthetist, assists with positioning of patients for procedures.

*Possesses excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment.

*Respects the rights and privacy of others and holds staff member information in strict confidence.

*Maintains regular attendance and complies with time and attendance policy and procedure.

*Adheres to South Lake Hospital's policies and procedures; Mission, Vision and Values statements; Code of Conduct.

*Ensures compliance with all regulatory standards including Federal, State, local and Joint Commission.

*Prioritizes workload to manage multiple priorities.

*Uses problem-solving skills to meet goals.

*Possesses knowledge and skill necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served in the peri-operative setting.
