Overview:

This position, based out of Verint/OpinionLab Chicago, IL office.

As a Sr. Operations Engineer at OpinionLab, you will work closely with other highly skilled engineers and architects to maintain, design and build the next-generation of our SaaS VoC platform. Your expertise building and managing scalable cloud hosted systems with open source components and tools will be critical in this role. Principal Duties and Essential Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the continual functioning of mission critical operations

  • Collaborate with all members of the technical staff in the delivery of best-in-class technology solutions

  • Automate the creation of new infrastructure in AWS using tools like Terraform and CloudFormation

  • Implement comprehensive logging, monitoring, and alerting systems

  • Optimize systems by tuning and “right-sizing”

  • Troubleshoot environment and application issues along-side the Development team

  • Implement cloud infrastructure that is secure and highly available

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or similar experience.

  • 8+ years of experience required.

  • Experience building and supporting a SaaS cloud-based infrastructure

  • Experience supporting software development organizations in release management and software deployment

  • Experience managing cloud infrastructure, preferably Amazon Web Services (AWS)

  • Demonstrated experience managing systems comprised of one or more of the following:

  • JVM (Java, Clojure), Ruby, Node and JavaScript applications

  • MSSQL, MySQL and PostgreSQL databases

  • Elasticsearch

  • Amazon managed services such as API Gateway, Lambda, DynamoDB and S3

Preferred Requirements:

  • Familiarity with security compliance standards and tools

  • Experience troubleshooting mission critical applications and infrastructure

  • Thorough knowledge of TCP/IP networking and Internet

  • Demonstrable scripting and basic programming skills
