n Job Description: n

n

Has both a broad and in-depth knowledge of Global Custody, plus strong knowledge of related areas. Provides analysis of service requirements from sub-custodians,

project management, market intelligence, risk analysis for each market, reporting and updating sub-accounts, compiling and assuring local tax documentation, and registration documentation. Carries out relatively complex, extensive, high profile activities e.g. direct interaction with committees and more senior management. Demonstrates excellent analytical, consultative, communication and judgment skills. May lead projects and/or train lower-level staff. Focuses on maintenance and implementation of policies and procedures in the function, building towards becoming an area expert. Operates under general supervision, but works on own most of the time. Technically competent to act as first point of reference for day-to-day queries, and serves as a liaison to related areas.

+ Work closely with the client's Network Management team to resolve all market related issues and facilitate timely responses for their inquiries.

n

+ Provide clients with updated market news/information as it pertains to the client's accounts. Major market changes should be conveyed via phone and followed by an email to the appropriate client contacts.

n

+ Provide monthly status report on pending subaccount applications or as required.

n

+ Track proxy PoAs for each fund as applicable to the markets and funds, which includes the following: assuring the client provides the documents in a timely manner and that they are executed in the market; track applicable expiration dates and assure new PoAs are in-place with the subcustodian prior to expiration; and provide quarterly reconciliation report.

+ Assure the necessary Tax documents, PoAs, etc. are in place and updated as needed for tax reclaims.

n

+ Submit subaccount application request through the SCNM database for all applicable accounts.

n

+ Act as a departmental contact for communicating market specific news and changes in market practices, risk analysis, and overall impact to the department.

n

+ Act as a resource to help resolve complex Investment Managers issues.

n

+ Ensure audit and regulatory requirements are met and follows corporate guidelines and procedures.

n

n Knowledge/Skills: n

n

Must have in-depth knowledge of Global Custody Services or equivalent experience, including Northern Trust policies & practices and the secondary security markets acquired through experience in related areas such as security operations or trust operations is required to establish and support sub-custodian relationships. Has a strong analytical and research skill to resolve issues and perform operations market analysis. Is comfortable presenting before clients and internal management. The candidate will have well developed leadership skills, and has the ability to work independently, but also as a team player with a flexible attitude and adaptive approach. Negotiation and persuasive skills are required to maintain client relationships and to consult with clients, internal partners and investment managers, and contacts at sub-custodians. Must have good project management and communication skills and have a strong working knowledge of the firm, industry and technology.

n Experience:

n

Five or more years experience in securities operations or client servicing capacity in a financial environment or related business experience.
