Chesterfield County Heavy Equipment Operator in Chesterfield, Virginia

Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED and three years of experience operating heavy motorized equipment such as rubber tire backhoes, excavators and loaders, trenchers, crane trucks and dump trucks towing trailers; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Emphasis on backhoe operation. Ability to perform heavy lifting required. Ability to perform light maintenance on heavy equipment. Knowledge of OSHA construction standard requirements related to excavations and trench safety. Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class "A" required or must have ability to obtain within six months of employment. Good driving record required. Must not reflect a total accumulation of six or more negative points within the past three years or a major violation within the past four years. Pre-employment drug testing, FBI criminal background check and education/degree verification required.

Duties:

Operate rubber tired backhoes and excavators to dig excavations around waterlines; perform maintenance and repairs; operate other construction equipment and perform a variety of skilled and semi-skilled tasks related to waterline maintenance and repair. Perform other work as required. Overtime may be frequent and required to include evenings, weekends and/or holidays.

Shift:

Monday - Friday; 7:30a.m. - 4:00p.m.; overtime may be frequent and required to include evenings, weekends and holidays.
