Coordinates distribution center, plant operations and maintenance facility functions under direction of leadership. Serves as Facility Safety Officer coordinating Fire, Life Safety and OSHA related issues. Responsible for adhering to Carolinas HealthCare Systems Core Values of Caring, Commitment, Integrity and Teamwork in all aspects of the specific Supply Chain responsibility. Is responsible for supporting and executing the strategic initiatives of the department, as directed by their leadership. Are accountable for developing positive relationships with their internal and external customers, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
Actively engage clinical leadership and/or staff daily to ensure departmental supply needs are being met. This includes, but is not limited to, attending daily shift huddles, establishing routine meetings with the clinical leadership, and rounding during the shift.
Distribute case cart picking lines to teammates and record key performance indicators (KPI’s).
Ensure that case carts are picked to standard and no case cart reaches clinical staff short of any item required for a procedure. Resolve all fill rate defects or elevate issues to MRM leadership as necessary.
Support the materials team and leadership in the management of product recalls.
Monitor daily operations to ensure that scheduled events are completed in accordance with the operation schedule.
Assist with project management and continuous improvement events.
Support the Materials Resource Management team with supply chain knowledge and expertise to further enhance the quantity, quality and value of services provided.
When applicable, be knowledgeable of regulations governing areas of responsibility.
Will work in a project management environment and must have the ability to support multiple projects concurrently.
Works rapidly and accurately under pressure and meets project deadlines.

Able to work independently with limited direction setting own deadlines and priorities supporting the mission of Materials Resource Management.
Interacts and is responsive to all customers including Carolina Healthcare System department managers and business partners. Ensures customer service levels are maintained at a high level and are quantifiable.
Continuously reviews departmental processes and procedures to ensure efficiency, effectiveness, consistency.
Provides routinely required management reports to their Manager in a timely manner.
Performs other duties as requested by their immediate supervisor.
Performs regular Fire Safety walkthroughs of distribution center, filing reports of findings and taking action to correct failures.
Assures Fire Safety and OSHA walkthroughs occur with appropriate CHS internal departments quarterly.
Maintains active MSDS file and catalog of all items stocked in the distribution center as well as those items used in the day-to-day operation.
Tracks and catalogs all items classified as hazardous insuring items are correctly stored by staff.
Serves as the central coordinating point for all recalls and tracks and catalogs recalls with complete records as to what the disposition of the affected items were.
Develops and maintains distribution center safety plans for employees.
Develops and maintains Life Safety evacuation plans in conjunction with the corporate safety department and conducts drills on evacuation plan quarterly.
Establishes and maintains a safety measurement metric/score and tracks and posts score monthly to all employees and leadership.
Must have the ability to concentrate and stand on feet for long periods of time. Lifting of 50 to 70 pounds required. Sight, hearing, and speech capabilities sufficient to communicate well with individuals and groups. Responsible for working in a safe manner.
Education, Experience and Certifications
Bachelors Degree in business, healthcare, or related field required. Masters degree, Certification, such as CMRP or CPIM a plus. Knowledge and application experience of Lean Six Sigma methodologies a plus. Computer skills in the Microsoft suite of software (i.e. MS Word, Outlook, Excel, Power Point and Access) is preferred. Knowledge and skill in using current Carolinas HealthCare System Materials Management software (McKesson Pathways / eMerald, Intek WLIB) a plus.
