The Wells Fargo Enterprise Information Technology (EIT) - Technology Risk Management (TRM) team is responsible for driving the execution and comprehensive view of risk across EIT, instilling a risk management culture where businesses are accountable for understanding and managing their risk. EIT TRM provides First Line of Defense risk management support to drive the execution of the EIT Risk Management Program for our partners, both domestic and international.

We have an exciting Senior Operational Risk Consultant opportunity that will cover EIT Policy Management. The person in this position will work across EIT teams, providing leadership in the performance and transformation of the Policy Exception Management program and related deliverables. _Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:_

As part of the First Line of Defense, this role provides leadership support to ensure that Enterprise Information Technology is accountable for risks associated with its activities, current and emerging risk identification, measurement, assessment, control, mitigation, monitoring, and reporting.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • As a member of the first line of defense within Technology Risk Management, supporting Enterprise Information Technology organization exceptions management process, which is a sub process within policy management lifecycle.

  • Serving as a subject matter expert supporting the policy exceptions management end to end lifecycle, which includes exception criteria review, risk assessment, approval, and monitoring for Corporate, Business, Technology, Information Security, and Third Party policies and standards within a complex technology environment.

  • Ensuring exceptions management process, routines, procedures, and guidelines are maintained in audit ready state. Ensuring corporate tools and systems of records are leveraged and supporting end user policy exception education and awareness.

  • Ensuring strong risk management and exceptions management governance, and driving accountabilities across diverse stakeholders within technology and operational risk. Ensuring policy exception activities and risks are maintained within KPI/KRI boundaries. If breached, ensuring proper mitigation and notification to technology and operational risk oversight committees.

  • Ensuring the development and distribution of exceptions management reports and dashboards in support of policy exceptions management. Ensuring data quality and validation controls are maintained in support of accurate reporting.

Required Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in compliance, operational risk management (includes audit, legal, credit risk, market risk, or the management of a process or business with accountability for compliance or operational risk), or a combination of both; or 10+ years of IT systems security, business process management or financial services industry experience, of which 5+ years must include direct experience in compliance, operational risk management, or a combination of both
