Leidos Sr. Staff Operations Officer in CHANTILLY, Virginia


The Leidos Intelligence and Homeland Security Group (I&HSG has openings for Senior Staff Operations Officers (SOO’s)in the Northern Virginia Area supporting the US Government. The positions require an active Top Secret/Secret Compartmented Information security clearance with a polygraph examination. The successful candidates will demonstrate proficiency in the functions of a Staff Operations Officer, supporting operational elements by providing operational research and analysis in furtherance of the client’s objective to acquire intelligence. Officers will also be expected to provide thorough and knowledgeable briefings on the analysis to customer management. The positions require a minimum of 7+ years of experience within the IC including experience with HUMINT operations.

In this role, the selected candidate will:

  • Prepare and coordinate the full range of technical operations correspondence to include report writing, file reviews and requirements

  • Traditional SOO skills sets as well as TIO skill sets in order to support the overall development and overall management of blended technical/computer operations and platforms

  • Responsible for managing and supporting technical operations via supporting all aspects of a technical cycle, working with Ops Support as well as other IC components

  • Conduct research and evaluate technical and all-source intelligence with emphasis on network and cyber operations, techniques and procedures

  • Maintain official files and documents, prepare for and brief senior management, prepare metrics and other required research

  • Provide briefings on to senior management

  • Occasional foreign and domestic travel may be required to provide technical operations support



  • BS degree

  • TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph

  • 7+ years supporting intelligence operations

  • Experience with HUMINT technical collection capabilities and methods and familiarity with the Intelligence Community and its objectives

  • Knowledge and experience in report writing and coordination in support of technical operations

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to brief senior management

  • The ability to work well in a team environment and be capable of operating independently with minimal supervision
