TB Woods, Inc. Secondary Machine Operator in CHAMBERSBURG, Pennsylvania

TB Wood's, a Division of Altra Industrial Motion is seeking a Secondary Machine Operator for our location in Chambersburg, PA. Job Summary: Performs preparation and finishing operations for assigned work orders, including but not limited to painting, boxing broaching, balancing and key-seating. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Sets–up and operates manual machines and other equipment assigned within cell Trained to operate all secondary machines. May be required to work outside of assigned cell, at the discretion of Supervisor. Fully responsible for preventive maintenance and proper usage of assigned machinery, tools, and component parts in assigned cells Follows Standard Work Instructions and makes mechanical adjustments. Adheres to all safety and health standards Participates in Kaizan events and seeks to continuously improve work processes. Inputs data to computer to ensure accuracy of inventory. Ability to perform next job below and above in value stream. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Basic measuring, math, reading and writing skills Basic blueprint reading, Inspection gauge and tooling skills Knowledge of SPC Demonstrated basic computer knowledge and aptitude Demonstrated basic mechanical aptitude Most demonstrate knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar Able to follow directions Attention to Detail – careful about detail and thorough in completing work tasks. Conducting tests and inspection of products or processes to evaluate quality or performance Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions Education and Experience: High school diploma or GED required 6 to 9 months on the job training or related vocational training program preferred. Working Conditions: Normal machine shop environment Must wear personal protective equipment at all times Noise – Frequent exposure to noise levels at or above 85 decibels during shift. Hearing protection required. Dust – Regular exposure to dust particles. Proper PPE required, when needed. Working hours - 10pm - 6am Physical Requirements: Lifting Requirements – Must be able to lift up to 50lbs. Bending, Kneeling and Squatting – Must be able to bend, kneel and/or squat during course of shift. Standing – Must be able to stand, potentially for long periods of time, during shift. Arm-Hand Steadiness —Must be able to keep hand and arm steady while moving arm or while holding arm and hand in one position. Finger Dexterity — Must be able to make precisely coordinated movements of the fingers of one or both hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble very small objects. Manual Dexterity — Must be able to quickly move hand, hand together with arm, or two hands to grasp and/or manipulate objects. Control Precision — Must be able to quickly and repeatedly adjust the controls of a machine or a vehicle to exact positions. Near Vision — Must be able to see details at close range (within a few feet of the observer) Hearing Sensitivity — The ability to detect or tell the differences between sounds that vary in pitch and loudness
