Job Description

Quad Graphics in Chalfont, PA is looking for a First Assistant Press Operator. The position will ensure effective press operation including safety, make-ready, quality, production, training and maintenance. It will also utilize all ISO procedures, and maintain required paperwork relating to press operation. Communicate professionally with all internal and external customers. This position directly helps Quad Graphics drive profitability by reducing the cost of errors through consistent work quality.


  • Reads and understands Job Bag, Press Instruction Sheet, blue lines, templates and Make-ready Checklist.

  • Performs Departmental Preventative Maintenance on press equipment as assigned.

  • Responsible for the safe and effective operation of assigned press equipment.

  • Performs Quality Checks on product.

  • Provides training and direction to newly hired or promoted press crewmembers.

  • Assists Press Operator in maintaining production standards

  • Follows all established safety procedures and guidelines.

  • Maintains job related records and inputs production into the ABACO system as required.

  • Manages self-development

  • Other duties as assigned
