  • Operates the employer's heavy equipment, including but not limited to: track hoe, back hoe, motor graders, bulldozer, front-end loader, skid steer, articulated truck, roller, and concrete saw

  • Follows the directions of the Jobsite Supervisor, Superintendent, Division Manager, Company President and all others in the chain of command

  • Follows all safety procedures

  • Provides clear and helpful directions to laborers

  • Records field notes as requested

  • Accurately reports employee time

  • Safeguards employer equipment, inspecting, cleaning and greasing as needed


  • 10-hour OSHA

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D.

  • Proficient in finish grading operations for dirt and base

  • Ability to communicate effectively with others; able to clearly lead/direct operations involving multiple pieces of equipment; can learn and retain new skills

  • Valid driver's license

  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screen

  • Maintain equipment to be clean and in a safe operating condition, perform Pre and Post shift inspections, add lubricants or fluids as needed and communicate any needed maintenance or repair issues to the Shop

  • When not operating equipment labor duties are performed, and may include: Shoveling, moving rocks, plate tampering, measuring grade, using a demo saw, hammering grade stakes, erosion control, lifting/moving supplies, site cleanup

  • May involve heavy lifting, moving, dragging, or connecting objects weighing up to 75 pounds

  • May involve frequent bending, use of hand or power tools, and frequent ascending and descending of ladder when entering or exiting equipment cabs

  • Extended periods of sedentary (seated) work while operating equipment

  • Work is performed outdoors with exposure to: sun, cold, wind, humidity, rain, and snow. Ground conditions may include mud and/or water

  • Travel is infrequent but may require some overnight travel

  • Work varies within our local area

General Hours:

  • 40 hours a week

  • Overtime as needed
