Coordinates all asphalt production. Worker is responsible for general maintenance and cleanliness of all plant operations.
Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)
Maintain asphalt plant operations to ensure timely production of asphalt.
Verify specified asphalt mix and enter correct mix design into computer. Monitor gauges, dials and operation of machinery to ensure conformance to processing specifications.
Coordinate production and loading of all asphalt leaving the plant.
Communicate and receive directions from dispatch, drivers, operators and customers via radio or phone.
Service and grease plant parts, i.e. change belts, grease bearings, and maintain cleanliness of the plant.
Order and maintain inventory of plant parts, grease, asphalt oil, etc.
Direct general operations of loader operator, laborer and scale operator.
Routinely assist other members of the work force in different areas of production.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
Previous asphalt plant operator experience highly preferred.
Safety minded professional who demonstrates good performance, attendance and punctuality.
Demonstrates the ability to work independently, without direct supervision.
Demonstrates the willingness to work overtime and weekends/holidays.
Demonstrates the willingness to learn and work a variety of job tasks.
Demonstrates excellent communication and customer service skills.
Must be a current member or able to join Operating Engineers Local 370.
