Position Summary

The Regional Director of Operations (RDO) shall provide direct management and oversight of assigned physician practices in Cardiovascular Consultants. The primary purpose of this position is to ensure daily operations of medical group are efficient and effective while also providing leadership and strategic direction to staff and organization. Position will be responsible to ensure that group's goals are being achieved with respect to financial performance, patient care, customer service and employee performance. This position will also work closely with the Cardiology Governance Committee Chair and Group President on developing and implementing strategic objectives and integrating Group Practice with Hospital where necessary. Finally, a strong ability to communicate and build relationships with physicians will be critical to success.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and oversight of daily operations of the medical group to ensure efficient and effective delivery of patient care and optimal customer service

  • Identify and implement integration opportunities between the medical group and the hospital that lead to better outcomes, improved patient satisfaction, and lower costs

  • Oversee preparation and development of annual strategic plan and operating and capital budgets

  • Set annual performance goals and objectives related to finance, quality, growth, patient care and physician and employee satisfaction for medical practice

  • Monitor financial and quality performance against goals and develop action plans as needed

  • Work with Governance Committee and Hospital Service Line Leaders to proactively identify growth and efficiency opportunities for the practice and health system

  • Represent the group as the administrative delegate where such representation is appropriate

  • Develop capable leadership team to ensure organizational depth and expertise

  • Report monthly performance to Governance Committee

  • Work in conjunction with Governance Committee and Hospital to develop annual physician recruiting plans

  • Act as liaison between Group and Hospital Administration(s) as necessary

  • Maintain attendance in accordance with departmental standards

  • Complete safety evaluation, JCAHO Education, TB Testing, Confidentiality, Information Systems usage and HIPAA/Corporate Compliance notification on an annual basis

  • Exhibit accepted level of Teamwork and RESPECT

  • Identify and implement change as needed to meet group/hospital goals

  • Prepare or assist with other projects/duties as assigned

Desired Job Qualifications/Skill Sets

  • Prior Experience in Leadership Capacity in Acute Hospital setting or Medical Practice

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Nursing or Other with Advanced Degree (MBA or BSN) preferred

  • Knowledge of Employment Law, Governmental Payor Guidelines (Medicare, Medicaid, etc.) and Regulatory Requirements (OSHA, BWC, etc.) of Medical Practice

  • Demonstrated experience in developing, implementing and executing strategic plans, optimizing revenue, cost containment, improving customer service and engaging employees

  • Ability to manage multiple demands from a variety of constituents

  • Effective Communication skills and ability to build relationships with physicians
