Amgen Research Operations Senior Manager in Cambridge, Massachusetts
The External Relationship Management team within the Translational Sciences Operations department has a great opportunity for an enthusiastic and result-oriented innovative Senior Project Manager who embraces, and thrives on, managing external relationships and leading changes to improve organizational performance.
The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting cross-functional teams in project and relationship management for a variety of projects involving Amgen stakeholders in academia and industry, as well as managing continuous transformation initiatives and implementing sustainable improvements.

Liaise with Amgen stakeholders in academia and industry, as well as with internal teams across functions
Evaluate and make recommendations for optimization of business processes, facilities and/or resources as required per the scope of the transformation initiatives
Plan complex activities and determine the most efficient sequence of operations and workflow to implement
Prepare cost estimates for proposed projects and evaluates cost factors
Identify and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure progresses towards goals
Develop, document and implement frameworks to sustain transformation
Deliver executive presentations and reports to senior leaders and cross-functional stakeholders
Manage projects within established scope, schedule, and budget, aligning project tactics with project strategy
Facilitate effective project meetings, cross-functional communication and decision making in a matrix environment
Doctorate degree and 2 years of operations or scientific experience
Master's degree and 6 years of operations or scientific experience
Bachelor's degree and 8 years of operations or scientific experience
Associate's degree and 10 years of operations or scientific experience
High school diploma / GED and 12 years of operations or scientific experience
Advanced degree and 5+ years of relevant experience in life science industry
Demonstrated project management experience in a biotech organization, i.e. strong competencies in planning, project management, and organization with the ability to lead multiple activities and resources while maintaining a focus on quality
Demonstrated experience supporting research partnership activities
Demonstrated leadership skills to influence and direct work at multiple levels of the organization
Exceptional interpersonal skills to effectively communicate and build relationships with a broad spectrum of audiences in a highly matrixed organization with geographically dispersed teams
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Strong oral and written communications skills; demonstrated ability to create and deliver executive-level presentations and reports
Advanced user of MS Excel and MS Power Point. Effectively leverage these and other business tools, including project management software such as MS Project, and flowcharting software such as Visio, to accomplish results.
Self-directed, innovative and collaborative spirit, flexible to adapt to a dynamic environment, and resourceful
Proven ability to grasp general knowledge of multiple disciplines
Network within local academic institutions and industries is a plus
Basic understanding of intellectual property is a plus
