Familiarity with IPMVP, ANSI WSIP, ASHRAE Commercial Building Energy Audits, ASHRAE Guideline 0, ASHRAE 90.1, ASHRAE 62.1, ASHRAE 55, and related green building related standards and guidelines preferred.Demonstrated experience teaching courses or speaking publicly (i.e. conferences) about sustainable building; demonstrated interest through course work, professional experience, or volunteer efforts in sustainability and/or addressing the ecological impacts of building design and construction preferred.Direct experience designing, operating, or optimizing building mechanical, electrical, and building automation systems preferred. Professional experience in construction administration, specification writing, and construction documents and drawings is preferred.Additional Information:Summary: This position leads Harvard's Green Building Services (GBS) program and supports policy and strategicplanning efforts related to Harvard's Green Building Standards, greenhouse gas reduction, and buildinghealth and wellness initiatives. The Green Building Services group provides sustainable buildingconsulting services to the Harvard community including existing facility owners, capital project teams,and other stakeholders responsible for building and maintaining Harvard's campus. Consulting servicesencompass a range of offerings to ensure cost effective green buildings that provide improved indoorenvironments for occupants and reduce harmful effects on the natural environment. These servicesinclude capital project consulting related to Green Building Standards implementation, administration ofLEED and related certification processes, commissioning, energy auditing, energy conservation measure(ECM) implementation, measurement and verification, and associated knowledge management andtraining efforts. This position is responsible for overall service delive1y, leadership/management of staff,customer satisfaction, and the financial performance of the unit.Technology Skills Requirements: Must be proficient in the use of computers, including MicrosoftOffice software suite (i.e. Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint), MS Visio, MS Project, AutodeskAutoCAD, electronic mail, and Internet applications. Familiarity with Building Automation Systems andthe ability to learn/utilize new software (such as Revit, eQUEST, Energy Plus, Photoshop, etc.) alsorequired. Must be able to bend, stoop and kneel forextended periods. Participates as a member of university-wide sustainability committees, including the development of green building strategy and policies.Oversees/manages service delivery to Harvard clients, ensures customer expectations are met and customer satisfaction is achieved. Monitors project progress and quality control, sets annual objectives and reviews performance of the GBS unit on a regular basis.Provides leadership to and supervision of all GBS staff; responsible for interviewing, hiring, and training new staff as needed; responsible for performance management, ongoing training, and development planning.Oversees staff providing green building consulting services (e.g. leading sustainability design charrettes and goal setting meetings), attends project meetings and effectively works with design and construction teams to promote sustainable design and construction and ensure adequate accountability. Provides support for the Green Campus Loan Fund, Life Cycle Costing calculator, and other activities as directed.Develops or grows existing services, identifies and develops new services in collaboration with other Energy & Facilities/Campus Services groups/units. Identifies new clients and projects, markets services, writes/reviews proposals, and negotiates contracts.Acts as the primary contact and lead on green building consulting services/support to high impact/strategic projects and master planning efforts at the University. This may include providing assistance with RFP development, proposal reviews, responding to general building-related questionsand providing follow-up support to internal customers and stakeholders. Leads and/or providessupport for special projects (short and long-range), initiatives, and tasks as assigned.Responsible for administering and maintaining Harvard's Green Building Standards. This includeseducating stakeholders and providing support to the Harvard community, creating tools, includingintroducing standards to project teams, reviewing energy models and life cycle costing results, andfacilitating the integrated design and life cycle costing processes, identifying best practices,analyzing lessons learned, etc. Facilitates or participates in sub-committees as appropriate to developrecommendations for revising/updating the Green Building Standards (or other standards, bestpractices, etc.). Reports regularly on the status of green buildings at Harvard, including the GreenBuilding Standards and project performance relative to complying with the standards.Responsible for the financial performance of the GBS group. Manages GBS budget, includingquarterly and annual reviews, budget projections, invoicing; sets and tracks group/program metricsand performance goals; monitors and manages unit activities to ensure compliance with policies andprocedures.Identifies and addresses training needs - for individual staff, for the overall GBS program, and forstakeholders across the University. Develops and delivers green building design, construction, andoperations educational materials to Harvard capital project teams, operations staff, etc.Collaborates with Campus Services groups (i.e. OFS, E&U)- Oversees provision of metrics, data,and information as requested - i.e. for survey responses, \"town/gown\" reports, or presentations bysenior administration - collaborates on both internal and external presentations about sustainability atHarvard (specifically as it relates to green building).
