Job Description

MultiChannel Engagement (MCE) is an initiative that will provide brand teams with better tools and techniques to engage our customers. A multi-Global Business Unit/country project has been launched to build a high-performing MCE platform in each business: setting up new channels of engagement, providing standard tools, upgrading our data management and analytics capability, and ensuring an integration that enables customer-centered, closed loop marketing. Achieving them is a critical part of Sanofi’s digital strategy.

The Director, Multichannel & Digital Operations (reporting to SGZ Head of Corporate Operations) will contribute to developing, building, and executing a roadmap to enhance Sanofi Genzyme’s multichannel and digital foundation, support the seamless integration of the global MCE platforms as they provide value to Sanofi Genzyme brand activity, and support the brands to create customer experiences embedded with MCE and digital tactics that drive value for the organization. This position will work collaboratively with the Head of Sanofi Genzyme MCE, the MCE global project teams, brands, ITS, and other functions as appropriate. Key initial projects will be focused on executing quick wins identified during the initial MCE current state assessment (i.e. digital asset cleanup, EMS transition recommendation, MCE & digital global training program) and building and implementing a global-scale change management program including a communication plan that, in partnership with region and local market leadership, builds high engagement with local teams in support of the new MCE initiatives.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Identify and execute quick wins, as well as lead long term strategic projects (i.e. scoping for new campaign management tool)

  • Lead along with Head of Corp Operations, change management and communication effort for SGZ including collaboration with global MCE initiative change management office to understand global offerings (training, targeted materials, etc) and local and regional teams to determine barriers and drivers for change to inform SGZ’s program design.

  • Propose new/revised services/processes required to support MCE and Digital (global, regional, local)

  • Recommend optimized ‘ways of working’ with new tools/platforms; development of standards, checklists, processes, templates to enable the business to implement new digital and MCE capabilities

  • Provide training, direction, and best practices to internal teams to enhance subject matter expertise of business partners

  • Create and implement long range plan and manage annual MCE budget


Basic Qualifications

  • 10+ years of previous experience in a marketing and/or business operations capacity working alongside marketing and ITS functions with exposure to digital activity

  • Experience in managing cross-functional teams (global experience preferred) and implementing programs and process improvements

  • Proven ability to collaborate, influence and drive change at all levels of the organization

  • Ability to think strategically and integrate MCE and digital into business objectives and brand plans

  • Experience leveraging data and insights to inform strategies and optimize plans

  • Ability to travel internationally up to 20% of time.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Deep knowledge and understanding of digital and/or multichannel marketing principles

  • Ability to lead, operate, and challenge multifunctional teams

  • Ability to champion strategic change initiatives and promote innovation

  • Understands the impact of change and effectively implements new approaches

  • Strong conflict resolution, and ability to facilitate decision-making

  • Experience in managing vendors and external business partners

  • Able to work self-supported (able to produce documents independently, with low level supervision)

  • Ability to prepare and deliver presentations to senior management

  • Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint and Microsoft Project

  • Negotiation skills

  • Professionalism and demonstrates solidarity with organization and team members

  • Customer focus; interpersonal savvy with respect for people

  • Good communication skills (English written and oral required)
