Title: 2nd Shift Senior Operator Pens

Responsibilities for this position are but not limited to:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Support the quality system including the quality manual, quality policy, and applicable procedures and work instructions

  • Offers improvement suggestions in many areas of manufacturing

  • Assembles, inspects and packages product per work instructions

  • Works on production lines approximately 80% of time to produce products

  • Effectively teaches operators new work instructions and obtains training certification

  • Leads by example to promote and inspire team to excel in exceeding production rates of quality products

  • Performs IFS and traveler activities per work instruction: component traceability, label verification, quantity produced, scrap, package seal integrity, equipment or testing verification and line clearance

  • Completes paperwork accurately with no errors and shows co-workers how to initiate and complete paperwork

  • Troubleshoots systems for issues in manufacturing

  • Explains the “why” behind the system

  • Performs change overs on machines in work area as needed within acceptable time frame

  • Identifies ways to reduce change over times and reports suggestions to Supervisor

  • Performs simple Preventive Maintenance tasks for work area according to PM schedule and properly records information in PM logs

  • Listens actively and takes direction from Supervisor regarding daily work priorities

  • Communicates professionally to teammates when updates are needed in regards to work priorities

  • Motivates team through verbal and physical acceptance of changes

  • Maintains 5S work environment and ensures order is restored in work area at end of each shift

  • Follows Aspen Surgical safety guidelines and procedures when and where required

  • Proactively participates in Kaizen events and creating a continuous improvement culture

  • Rotates and learns new cells and skills as requests to meet customer demands and personal development goals

  • Utilizes downtime properly

  • Maintains and displays strong attendance habits by being present and on time

  • Other tasks as assigned by Supervisor

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

· High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)

o Additional certification level education or Associates degree a plus

· Has minimum of 12 months experience on the production floor at Aspen Surgical

o No written or above level discipline for past 6 months for Teamwork, Quality, or Safety

o Must be on Regular Attendance plan

o Accelerated Attendance plan employees not eligible

o Needs to be rated above expectations in current operator role

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

· Proficient in English verbal and written communication

· Demonstrates proficient computer skills to maintain accurate and efficient data entry into systems

· Demonstrates ability to lead by example and personally uphold and live Aspen’s Core Values

· Ability to successfully complete Aspen Surgical Train the Trainer course and show competency as a Trainer

· Ability to foster team work environment through leadership and professional communication skills

· Good mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot and resolve mechanical problems

· Displays overall team player attitude and desire to personally develop to an advance level position within 3-5 years

· Occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds depending on area of assignment

· Specific vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus

· Ability to use and inspect through a microscope for long period of time
