This job was posted by : For more information, please see: FORKLIFT OPERATOR. We are searching for a forklift operator to work in our inventory management and shipping and receiving areas. This is a full time position. Overtime will be required. General work schedule is Monday through Friday 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM with some Saturdays as business demands require. Job Summary: The Fork Lift Operator safely operates forklifts to move materials or equipment and prepares proper documentation as required. Essential Duties Visually inspects equipment for safety and proper operation, including but not limited to checking fluid levels, conditions of cables and wires, etc., at the beginning of each shift. Completes inspection documentation. Notifies supervisor of needed repairs or replacements. Successfully completes Rule Steel forklift operator certification training and carries operator card at all times. Safely operates forklift to move machinery or material, load trucks, unload trucks, places materials in appropriate storage area or in production areas. Counts materials or products to ensure quantities moved are correct and as requested. Reads or prepares proper inventory documentation records including but not limited to packing slips, purchase orders and work orders. Uses and maintains required personal protective equipment as outlined in the Rule Steel Safety Manual. Understands and follows all Rule Steel safety policies and procedures. Other Duties Cleans and organizes work area. Appropriately disposes of scrap material and waste. Assists with special projects as assigned by supervisor Qualification requirements One year or more of forklift experience. Experience with extension lifts and/or all-terrain lifts preferred. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Ability to successfully complete Rule Steel's forklift operator certification training. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally. Ability to lift over 50 to and up to 60 pounds occasionally Ability to verbally communicate with coworkers and supervisors in a safe and productive manner. Ability to understand simple math functions such as counting, adding and subtracting. Ability to use and read a measuring tape. Ability to work extended shifts to meet business demands. Ability to pass a preemployment drug screen.
