Sales Reporting - Bucharest
As part of Global Sales Operations department, the person will be responsible for data warehouse maintenance and tuning to support the License, Consulting and Hardware lines of business (LOBs) within Oracle. The current Sales Reporting team consists of 50 members working across several countries in Europe as well as in India.

Global Sales Operations is responsible with supporting the Sales organization worldwide in terms of processes, business analysis, reporting and technical solutions.
The Sales Reporting team is responsible of the reporting infrastructure for sales organisation. The team is also in charge of designing, implementing, and maintaining all of the internal web-based applications that are needed by the business.
Assume primary responsibility during problem resolution. Use troubleshooting techniques to identify root cause and implement permanent corrective action to resolve issues.
Monitor database activities on daily basis to ensure the performance, reliability and security of databases.
Conduct performance testing to evaluate that different changes achieve the desired results and performance.
Develop routines for end users and application developers to facilitate best practices and tuning techniques.
Create maintenance plans for the administered databases.
Respond to database related queries and issues in a timely fashion.
Keep pace with the development of Oracle Products; assess their relevance to group operations and propose upgrades
Create and maintain technical documentation
Strong understanding of database structures and architectures, theories, principles, and tuning practices
2 years of hands-on IT experience with Oracle SQL and PL/SQL
1-2 years DBA experience
Skills: programming, optimizing, tuning, debugging, testing, and problem-solving
Knowledge of Database Engineered Systems (ODA, Exadata) is a plus
Data Warehouse design is a plus
Experience with Linux (preferably Oracle Linux)
Shell scripting for administration, monitoring, etc.
Excellent communication skills. Fluency in English required. (English is the working language).
Ability to work in an environment that involves remote interaction with other team members, internal customers and users.
Results-oriented and innovation-oriented personality.
University degree/diploma (or equivalent) in Computer Science field.
Detailed Description and Job Requirements
Analyze, design develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for commercial or end user applications. Writes code, completes programming and performs testing and debugging of applications.
As a member of the software engineering division, you will perform high-level design based on provided external specifications. Specify, design and implement minor changes to existing software architecture. Build highly complex enhancements and resolve complex bugs. Build and execute unit tests and unit plans. Review integration and regression test plans created by QA. Communicate with QA and porting engineering as necessary to discuss minor changes to product functionality and to ensure quality and consistency across specific products.
Duties and tasks are varied and complex needing independent judgment. Fully competent in own area of expertise. May have project lead role and or supervise lower level personnel. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 4 years of software engineering or related experience.
