Kforce Printing Operations Manager in Brooklyn, New York

Kforce has a client in Brooklyn, NY seeking a Printing Operations Manager.Overview:The Operations Manager coordinates and oversees the printing area. This position is responsible for preparing and completing action plans, implementation of production, productivity and quality. The role demands an understanding and development of initiatives to improve operational performance working with the management team, and to help implement globally agreed procedures and enhancements. Essential Job Functions:

  • Responsible for directing the Print Department and all Lead Printers

  • Monitor workflow, efficiency, and quality of all Printed products

  • Print product sampling and control of printed plate inventory, tracking of current revision levels

  • Evaluating/documenting personnel performance as needed, training printing personal

  • Responsible for efficiency and productivity of Supervisors, Leads, and production associates

  • Maintains adherence to all company policies, safety standards, work rules, and regulations

  • Responsible for the overseeing and completion of the Planned, Predictive, and Reactive maintenance requirements of the Print Department equipment to ensure highest levels of productivity, throughput, and OEE

  • Responsible for supervising, overseeing, and directing all production supervisors in their daily performance of job duties as it pertains to their productivity, quality of product manufactured, housekeeping, and safety

  • Proactively prioritize, coordinate, monitor, and troubleshoot workflow across centers to effectively meet all clients' needs

  • Liaise to load balance job queue effectively, juggling jobs between centers to ensure that the most urgent work is always processed soonest

  • Additional tasks, assignments, and special projects as assigned by Manager

  • Partner with management to implement best practices and relevant policies

  • High School or GED equivalent

  • 3 - 5 years print management experience

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in investment banking or other corporate environment

  • Extensive knowledge with print machines

  • Wide exposure to front desk and workflow co-ordination, or similar role that involves problem solving and banker liaison

  • Demonstrated ability to accurately estimate requests, negotiate deadlines and set realistic expectations with primary focus on client service

  • Strong understanding of PitchPRO and DocPro templates, client's styles, departmental business applications (WX, DealWorks, PPS shared drive usage)

  • Familiarity with commonly produced investment banking documents

  • In-depth knowledge of and proficiency in all production equipment and processes

  • Copying/printing equipment (ie, the DigiPath, DocuColor, Docutech Versant 180, Nuvera 157, OCE 6320, Xerox J75, OCE 135, IGEN 150 press Certified etc.)

  • Binding equipment (GBC, Velobind, Wire-o, Tapebind, 3-hole Driller, Cutting Machine, Creaser, Saddle Stitcher, Bourg Booklet maker, and MB, etc.)

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Solution oriented with proven problem-solving skills

  • Ability to accurately estimate time required to complete requests and establish realistic deadlines based on client needs, workload and operator availability

  • Ability to effectively and efficiently quality check own work and that of colleagues

  • Ability to effectively troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues

  • Able to train others
