CoreLogic's Science & Analytics division is seeking a Geospatial Solutions Specialist to develop tools and scripts that support our GIS production workflows and automate our quality assurance processes. This position also collaborates with our scientists, data modelers, and analysts to perform complex spatial analysis along with the latest machine-learning techniques to produce new products and enhance our existing products. The positions plays a key role on our team in improving our overall efficiency and in driving new geospatial initiatives.
Posting Job Description
Develop and document geospatial tools to support CoreLogic production workflows.
Create and/or adapt machine learning algorithms and imagery feature extraction techniques to produce new products or enhance existing products.
Provide advanced-level support for complex geospatial professional services requests.
Identify opportunities for workflow automation and make hardware and software recommendations to improve team efficiency.
Assist with geospatial database and license administration tasks.
Participate in production-related activities as needed.
Posting Job Requirements
*Education, Experience, Knowledge and Skills *
Bachelor’s Degree in Geography, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), or a related field with specialization in GIS.
6+ years of GIS industry-related work experience.
Experience editing, analyzing, and processing a variety of spatial datasets such as parcels, natural hazards, land cover, buildings, elevation, LIDAR, and imagery.
Must be proficient in a number of computer applications, but must specifically possess GIS software skills; work experience with ESRI products (e.g. ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Enterprise), and remote sensing/imagery processing software is required.
Proficient in geospatial database technologies and query languages including ability to write/execute SQL queries; experience with large data sets. Some experience with either Oracle, Open Source, or ArcGIS Enterprise database environments is preferred.
Proven work experience developing machine learning algorithms and employing feature extraction techniques for advanced geospatial imagery analysis.
Experience developing automated QA.C routines and geospatial workflow enhancement tools.
Solid organizational skills and the ability to meet deadlines while working in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent problem solving and decision-making skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to develop strong working relationships within teams and across the organization.
