CAMS, LLC Control Room Operator in Borger, Texas
Incumbent must be knowledgeable and adheres to all safety procedures including lock-out/tag-out and the use of personal protective equipment.
Operate equipment safely and with the intent to minimize risk to personnel and equipment.
Ensure environmental compliance in accordance with all Regulatory Programs.
Make recommendations to ensure thermal and electrical outputs are at optimum levels and efficiency.
Assure the daily log and other plant records are filled out in a timely and accurate manner.
Conduct periodic log and record review to ensure that tag out procedures, equipment status and other work processes are functioning effectively.
Participate in the administrative maintenance of plant operating manuals, technical references, prints and diagrams, and preventive/predictive maintenance records.
Actively support the Maintenance Team in the execution of maintenance plans, by providing support (Lockout/Tagout), equipment identification, troubleshooting, work request preparation, or other areas as needed).
Complete other tasks as requested by the O&M Supervisor.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or GED required.
Ability to understand procedures and instructions specific to the area of assignment is required.
Five years’ experience as a Plant Operator or equivalent position in a combined cycle power generating plant is desired.
Experience in water chemistry control, water condition analysis, water treatment facility operations and chemical handling requirements is desired.
Theoretical and practical knowledge of combustion turbine operations, industrial safety, hazardous waste management and inspection/recording of plant parameters is highly desirable.
Experience with piping and instrument schematics and process controls is desirable. Extensive working knowledge of power plant industry is desirable.
Must successfully complete or have completed a plant operator's examination and refresher certification, if applicable, as set forth under Article VIII of the CBA.
Driving on company business is a requirement of this position and as such, the incumbent shall have and maintain a valid driver’s license.
Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
Must have excellent organizational skills.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
Participate in the Fitness for Duty Program. This program includes a post-offer physical examination and drug screening and post-employment random drug screening.
There are extensive smoking restrictions in and around the facility.
Working on feet for extensive periods, requiring stair and ladder climbing; and routinely lifting 50 pounds.
Working with hazardous materials may be required.
Requires extended working hours and varied shifts with the possibility of weekend and holiday work, as required by schedules, work load and plant conditions.
"On call" status will periodically be required.
Protective equipment such as hard hats, safety glasses, air masks, ear protection and others must be worn in the performance of some duties.
