Position Description

Level will be commensurate with experience and skill set. Primary purpose: • Responsible for the installation, operation and maintenance of all gas/liquids processing plants, pipeline, pump, compression related facilities, liquid storage fields/terminals or facilities with significant complexity above typical maintenance operations as determined by the Department. Essential duties and responsibilities: • Responsible for the operation of compressors, engines, auxiliary units, turbines, motors, cooling equipment, pumps, seals, valves and related equipment • Responsible for monitoring and controlling process variables, such as pressure, temperature and flow rates to efficiently achieve desired operating results • Start, stop and operate engines/pumps and other equipment to maintain designated operating parameters • Assist in the planning and performance of maintenance and repairs on compressors, engines, turbines, auxiliary equipment, pumps, process controls, and related equipment • Ensure the cost effective and efficient performance of all gas and liquid processing units and associated equipment • Monitors quality of product to ensure meeting specifications and takes appropriate actions when out of specification product is identified • Monitors, transfers or directs transfer of product to above or below ground storage and through the pipeline system • Communicates with company control centers, business groups and other operating groups as necessary • Communicates with shippers concerning product movement • Responsible for the general upkeep and maintenance of all facilities and equipment as needed • Oversee the construction, maintenance and/or security activities performed by third parties • Identify, report and correct safety and environmental concerns • Trains company and third party personnel as required (e.g., transport drivers, contractors, visitors) • Represent the Company during contacts with landowner/tenants and public officials/emergency officials • Perform all work in compliance with Company standards, procedures, and regulatory and tariff requirements • Complete appropriate documentation and paperwork • Actively participate in safety and security program and initiatives • Participates in the development of O&M Procedures, Site Specific Procedures, project scopes and work plans • Help in the development of Site Specific Procedures • Regular and predictable attendance.

Position Requirements

Minimum requirements: Education: • High School Diploma or GED Experience / specific knowledge: • Must respond to, and address, callouts and emergencies after regular business hours including after dark hours, which may require carrying a communication device. • Knowledge of compressor, pump stations, gather transmission, pipeline system operations. • Knowledge reading and interpreting blueprints, P&IDs and other diagrams • Knowledge and experience in safe handling practices of flammable gases, liquid, and high/low pressure systems Certifications, licenses, registrations: • Possess a valid driver's license and meet company insurability requirements • May be required to possess a commercial driver’s license, drive a company commercial vehicle and comply with all commercial vehicle regulations • May be required to achieve and maintain certifications as required to perform job duties • Achieve and maintain all OQ qualifications and progression requirements applicable to the job classification. Competencies, skills, and abilities: • Basic computer skills (knowledge of MS Office, various operating systems, and other company software) • Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals) • Good verbal and written communication skills • Customer focus • Ability to work with a team, take direction from supervisors, keep required work schedules, focus attention on details, and follow work rules • Ability to speak and understand English. • Ability to work with others, take direction from supervisor(s), focus attention on details, and follow work rules. Physical demands: • Must be able to withstand extreme weather conditions • Must be able to frequently: • Enter confined spaces • Climb to and work from elevated platforms, ladders and walkways • Must be able to lift a minimum of 20 pounds in awkward positions, and 50 pounds from floor to waist. • Must be able to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions, climb vertical access ladders and stairwells, carry up to 50 pounds and to see, hear, walk and talk effectively. Working conditions: • May work in low-lit areas • Must be able to withstand extreme weather conditions • Must be able to climb to and work from elevated platforms, ladders, and walkways, etc. • Depending upon the location and workload, travel will be required Supervisory responsibility: • None Above the minimum requirements; not required but advantageous in this position: • Mechanic's course certification/training.
