United Performance Metals, part of the O’Neal Industries family of companies and a growing stainless steel distributor located in La Mirada, CA, is seeking a motivated individual to join our Plant Operations team as Plant Operations Assistant. This position

assists in processing material and packages orders for shipment, while ensuring all Quality and customer specifications are met.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Safety #1 - complies with all safety rules and guidelines set forth by UPM and OSHA.

Quality

General life truck operator

Responsible for maintaining equipment

Assures sufficient supply of goods / inventory control

Pull material from stock

Process orders

Check all specified tolerances

Computer skills required

Package material

Prepare order to be shipped

Return unused material to inventory

Manage space by consolidating material

Housekeeping / sweep

Empty dumpsters / in-house trash cans

Assist in other areas as needed

Perform all additional duties as requested by manager / supervisor / lead

Requirements

The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications/experience:

  • Experience in a plant environment and/or operating metal cutting machinery

  • CPT Certification a plus

  • Experience working in AS9100/ISO9001 organization a plus

  • Fork truck experience preferred

  • Ability to effectively work with numbers and follow written instructions in English

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills

  • High School Diploma or GED
