Verizon Contingent Workforce Operations Manager in Basking Ridge, New Jersey

What you’ll be doing...

The Contingent Workforce Operations Manager is responsible for owning, managing, and driving process improvements and quality delivery in support of Verizon’s Corporate Sourcing organization, specifically the Verizon Contingent Workforce Program (VzCWP). The VzCWP is an-end-to-end, outsourced platform for the procurement of contingent labor across the Verizon footprint. This person is responsible for ensuring the effectiveness of the operation by implementing sourcing/procurement category strategies, organizational strategies, providing leadership and maintaining agreed upon SLA’s with internal and external business partners. The position will manage a team of 50 managed service provider (MSP) resources supporting operations both onshore and offshore in the achievement of the strategic and operational objectives of Verizon. The ideal candidate must ensure that all business process metrics such as service level targets, report delivery, client escalations, and project management are met and that all processes are executed efficiently and successfully, while improving the cost structure and driving continuous improvement.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Build and implement a category strategy and preform ongoing spend category management for the sourcing and procurement of contingent labor across the Verizon footprint

  • Manage supplier relationships with MSP partners as well as staffing suppliers on behalf of Verizon, MSP and supplier performance and compliance

  • Conduct contract negotiations and manage ongoing contract compliance with MSP as well as staffing suppliers

  • Analyze and assess staffing supplier performance data and define staffing supplier service level agreements and key performance indicators in order to drive continuous staffing supplier optimization

  • Conduct quarterly business reviews as well as annual governance/strategy reviews with MSP as well as internal Verizon stakeholders from across the business.

  • Enforce Verizon Contingent Worker Policy compliance with MSP suppliers as well as staffing suppliers.

  • Design and implement operating models including governance, service management, key performance indicators and service level agreements with MSPDevelop detailed work plans, direct project teams, deliver status updates, meet aggressive deadlines, manage to budget, and meet or exceed quality standards

  • Work with virtual teams, vendors and business partners, in different countries, managing cross-cultural issues while maintaining positive relationships; establish a culture of teamcollaboration, accountability and operational excellence Enforce Verizon Contingent Worker Policy compliance with MSP suppliers as well as staffing suppliers.

  • Establish and influenceoperational policies and procedures; managing and improving the operational processes, policies, and systems in support of the VzCWP’s mission

  • On a proactive basis, identifies potential issues and drives resolution to avoid negative impacts to the business and to facilitate continuous improvement in the operation

  • Guide team through problem definition, issue identification and work plan development using problem solving principles and past experience

  • Provide operational leadership and oversight to reduce variability and improve efficiencies

  • Develop and implement scorecards and performance metrics that optimize quality and production

  • Responsible for ensuring proper security and clearance reviews are conducted and approvals are granted changes to the program related to new systems, new data access, new projects, and new resources

What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree or six or more years of work experience.

  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.

  • Experience in Project Management, Sourcing/Procurement and/or supplier relationship management.

  • Experience in the HR, staffing and/or contingent workforce industries, specifically with Managed Service Provider (MSP) managed contingent workforce programs.

  • Knowledge of the BPO operations and BPO management.

Even better if you have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business.

  • Master’s degree.

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.

  • Six Sigma experience.

  • International work experience and cross cultural skills.

  • Experience working with virtual teams.

  • Outstanding communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

  • Proven ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment.
