Director, Operations Technology IT Support in Bangalore, India

Amazon Operations Technology is looking for a Director of IT Support. The Ops Tech IT group provides world-class IT services for Amazon’s fulfillment centers and transportation networks worldwide. This role will be responsible for leading an exceptionally talented organization. The ideal candidate has a proven track record of building large, scalable organizations, and is a creative thinker, problem solver, teacher, learner, and a fantastic manager of people.

As head of the Ops Tech IT Support group, you will play a crucial role in driving process improvements, operational excellence programs, and tech support metrics. You will build and evolve programs to hire, develop, and retain top talent at all levels of this rapidly growing team. With responsibility for large capital and expense budgets, you will work closely with finance and procurement partners to increase efficiencies, leverage economies of scale, and own IT supply chain strategy. Engaging and building relationships with your operations customers around the world will be key to your success.

The Ops Tech IT Support Director will have a passion for technology, expertise leading large and dispersed tech support teams, and a mechanism-oriented mindset, in order to build the scalable and repeatable processes required to run a global tech support operation.

Job duties will include:

· Defining vision and strategy for the Ops Tech IT Support organization

· Goal setting and execution planning

· Executive business presentations

· Direct management of a global, distributed team of senior technical support managers who oversee day-to-day operations and own key programs

· Work autonomously with a strong bias for action to deliver on business growth requirements and departmental goals

· Use strong business analytics and leadership skills

· Set direction for program management methodologies

· Build mechanisms to identify best practices and standardize their use

· Evaluate and hire top talent to drive Amazon’s business objectives while sustaining a culture of high performance

· Management of capital, expense, and headcount budgets

· Bachelor’s degree in business, computer science, engineering, economics, or related field

· English fluency

· Minimum 7 years leading large and dispersed tech support teams, with hundreds or thousands of team members in multiple countries

· Minimum 12 years of operations or technology management experience, up to executive levels

· Excellent writing skills

· Executive presentation skills

· Willingness to travel 20% domestic and international

· MBA or advanced degree

· Professional fluency in a language other than English

· Passion for technology

· Experience within leading tech companies
