About the Job

The Business Operations Analyst will be a key member of the Corporate Systems Services team. This role primarily consists of issue resolution across applications while having a high sense of ownership and keeping the customer informed and satisfied throughout the process. Successful candidates will possess strong communication skills needed to translate end user application problems into workable solutions. Candidate should be comfortable working independently as well as part of a team. This individual contributor role is a dynamic and high-impact position designed to place you as a key liaison between the Finance teams and various functions of the IT Team (Developers, Analyst, DBA's and Managers). Successful candidates will be adept at applying their knowledge of SQL querying and analysis to help resolve issues and answer questions for customers. The candidate should have the knowledge to look at the business process from a strategic perspective and provide advice on the functionality within the applications. Successful candidate will be willing to extend beyond application boundaries to understand the overall business to determine the best possible solution and demonstrate the willingness to learn and do more to help the team.

About the Team

The Corporate Systems team designs and develops the technology platform that underpins all Financial and HR processes at Akamai. Our focus is to increase the efficiency and transparency of these areas of the business while maintaining enterprise class reliability. Our ever-evolving technology stack consists of Oracle E-Business, Oracle Business Intelligence, Siebel CRM, Informatica, Hyperion Essbase, and custom software. The team consists of high-caliber software engineers, business systems analysts, project managers, and application administrators.


*Work with the different end users to solve their everyday problems within the application.

*Be the single point of contact for assigned work items and act as a liaison between the applications impacted by work items.

*Act as an orchestrator to get the necessary resources/teams to the table for quick resolution and sort out situations as needed.

*Manage a ticketing system, monitoring the queue, assigning tickets to themselves and others and working on tickets based on priority until a solution is deployed.

*Coordinate meetings with the end users to communicate status of tickets and working with them to establish a priority system to help order the work within theteam.

*Lead testing cycles of the proposed solution in a non-Production environment to help the users understand the proposed solution and get it ready for deployment.

*Coordinate the approvals necessary to deploy the solution in Production.

*Make configuration changes within the application to deploy the solution in Production.

*Understand the business needs to make informed decision about the solution proposal.

*Write SQL queries against the database to investigate issues or provide data to end customers per request.

Basic Qualifications

*Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems or equivalent experience.

*2+ years of experience supporting Financial Applications.

*4+ years of experience with Microsoft Office Suite including; Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, Access and Project.

*Comfortable in technical troubleshooting.

*Experience in developing and troubleshooting interfaces and reports

*Expert level knowledge in SQL or PLSQL.

*Ability to quickly and effectively troubleshoot problems.

*Self-motivated individual with strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with all levels of the organization.

*Ability to think strategically and handle multiple support items simultaneously.
