John B. Sanfilippo Forklift Operator I in Bainbridge, Georgia
The forklift operator I is qualified to operate electric pallet jacks and/or sit-down and is in training to operate stand-up forklift. The person in this position possesses entry level skills to perform the day to day activities within the receiving/warehouse department, including raw receiving dock, finished goods dock or production line support.
The Forklift Operator I is qualified to operate electric pallet jacks and/or sit down forklifts. The person in this position possesses entry level skills to unload/load trucks, performs put away of materials using a sit down forklift. The Forklift Operator I is also responsible for changing equipment batteries.
Unloads trucks/containers of raw or FG (finished goods) items, verifies receipt to order documentation, signs and stamps bill of lading, receives inventory into the system using WMS scanning equipment, and verifies/applies LP’s as directed. Picks work order demands, stages product for production use and returns unused items back to inventory.
Inspects trucks and documents findings. Transfers processed product into FG or coolers storage location.
Keeps receiving/warehouse area clean and organized. Sweeps, picks up trash, tapes up any open cases and organizes empty pallets, etc.
Changes equipment batteries, conducts pre-op inspection on all material handling equipment used and reports any equipment issues or damages. Properly uses and cares for hand-held scanning equipment.
Rotates inventory and follows FIFO(first in-first out) or FEFO (first expired-first out) process, depending on job function.
Adheres to all safety and GMP rules, including allergen segregation and organic product handling. Attends assigned training.
Responsible for manufacturing, distributing and consistently maintaining safe and quality food by following good manufacturing practices, allergen controls, food defense, HACCP, SQF, and regulatory requirements.
Aware and accountable for maintaining and documenting preventative controls necessary to ensure food safety and quality.
Responsible for immediately reporting all food safety and quality issues to management.
Responsible for partnering with others, sharing knowledge, skills and information within assigned team and across functional areas.
Responsible for enhancing technical and functional competencies, as well as professional and leadership development.
Forklift driving experience and knowledge of safe forklift operation.
Material handling equipment certification preferred.
Ability to read, write and speak English.
Basic math skills.
Job Specific Requirements:
In the event that the Forklift Driver is absent, the Department Manager is responsible for providing an equally qualified person to cover this position.
