Provide customer support/communication anddirect oversight of vendors and associated contract crews to ensure thesafe, cost effective, completion of capital projects, O&M projects,outage related construction activities, and other special projects asnegotiated. Ensure that projects are adequately resourced, and manage theproject schedule and budget. Deliver safe, reliable, and compliantoperations and ensure customer safety and satisfaction.Essential ResponsibilitiesSafety: Accountable for ensuring adherence to Xcel Energy safetyrequirements. Provide visible safety leadership and participate in worksiteaudits, safety observations, safety investigations and reporting ofincidents and near misses, and accidents/Injuries/Issues. Remove workersfor safety violations per established rules and requirements. Ensurecompliance with OSHA Regulations and perform/report Safety Observations onall contractors performing work on Xcel Energy projects.Business Optimization & Strategy: Approve pre-construction plans anddevelop resource plans for delivery to scheduling. Evaluate contractorperformance based on operational and financial metrics. Monitor performanceand take action where necessary to meet in-service dates. Drive processadherence and data integrity with vendor partners.Operational Effectiveness: Ensure that projects are completed on time,within budget, and according to specifications/scope of work. Manage thecommunication/relationship with the customers and day-to-day cost andschedule of projects; approve change orders, overtime, and othervendor-driven project expenses including final payment. Monitor project statusand respond to deviations. Assess/address vendor productivity andperformance; drive quality, accountability, and performance.Relationship Management: Build and manage effective relationships withcontractors, craft labor, customers and other stakeholders. Consult withproject leads and other team members on design and project performance.Regulatory & Compliance: Perform inspections and/or monitor all work toestablish compliance with requirements, ensure remediation plans arecompleted, and maintain appropriate records. Establish, perform, andtrack processes to ensure regulatory compliance.Minimum RequirementsFive or more years in design, construction, operations, engineering ormaintenance of utility systems/power generation plants or relatedindustries/fiAssociates or technical degree preferred.Field experience including a working knowledge of techniques, materials,terminology of field construction/maintenance and inspection activities.Strong planning skills and experience with determining crew sizes anddurations for construction activities.Familiarity with work packages, construction task planning, and knowledgeof work and asset management applications.Effective leader with demonstrated ability to effectively communicatecompany/business area policies, procedures and objectives to variousstakeholders.Proven results at achieving performance and operational metrics and drivingprocess adherence.Demonstrated knowledge and experience in specific functional area standards,procedures, and applicable government/environmental regulations.PreferredInformal leadership or supervisory experience.Demonstrated experience working as/with vendors and other 3rd party partners.Completion of an approved apprentice program in an appropriately relatedcraft.Demonstrated understanding of utility finance.Will be required to work rotating shifts and/or be on
