Systems Planning and Analysis Operations Research Analyst in Alexandria, Virginia
The Joint Tactical Analysis Group (JTAG) is focused on providing analytic support to senior national defense decision makers, allowing them to make better decisions regarding their allocation of resources and improving their operational capabilities. We do wide range of analysis, to include supporting resource allocation decisions, development of optimization tools, analysis of military operations and joint training assessments. We also assist other groups conducting analysis of ground and expeditionary warfare.Requirements:and#149; Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, Operations Research, Defense Systems Analysis or Engineering is required. Master's degree is highly desired.and#149; 10+ years of relevant work experience, particularly in the areas of operations research, and/or modeling and simulation techniques and tools.and#149; Computer programming experience (e.g., VBA, SQL, C++, C#, VB.NET, Java, and Python) and database design is required.and#149; Proficient in the Microsoft Office suite of products (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Access).and#149; Demonstrated experience in data analysis, modeling and simulation, cost analysis, database and user interface design, computer programming, or applied operations research, preferably gained through analysis supporting military operations is required.and#149; Must possess the ability to explain modeling methodologies and results in everyday language and to translate results into useable output products.and#149; Active DoD security is required.Desired Experience:and#149; Demonstrated experience with linear and non-linear programming techniquesand#149; Experience providing analytic support to the Navy or Marine Corpsand#149; Previous Military experience.Job Description:Work with other analysts to develop and utilize analytic tools, conduct analysis, and prepare and present results in support of analyses for a variety of customers (e.g., US Navy, US Marine Corps, US Air Force, OSD and DHS). Participate in all phases of analysis projects including design, implementation, testing, documentation, and presentation of analytical results. Will be a member of one or more focused projects across a broad spectrum of challenging issues before DoD.
