This position is in the US Pacific Command Experimentation and Innovation Division. The position entails conducting gap analysis in support of key US Pacific Command plans and planning activities regarding special operations capabilities, forces, and technologies. This includes gap identification, analysis, identification of alternative solutions, and comparative analysis for new special operations capabilities. Extensive coordination across multiple headquarter and staff elements is required. Expect 10-15% travel.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Reviewing and understanding OPLAN, CONPLAN and supporting base plan and annexes

  • Identifying gaps between existing capabilities and those required in authorized plans and in planning guidance

  • Identifying potential material and non-material solutions that can address the capability gaps, preferably within a 6-12 month period

  • Identifying test and evaluation opportunities for those proposed solutions

  • Socializing proposed solutions, as well as T&E results, across a range of stakeholders

Requirements:

  • Must be a US citizen

  • At least 10 years active duty experience, preferably in the US Army, US Marine Corps, or Naval Special Warfare

  • Applicants with more active duty time, or those with specific special operations experience, will be favored

  • At least 5 years experience in the Pacific Command AOR

  • Applicants with longer time in the PACOM AOR will be favored

  • At least 5 years experience in an experimentation, T&E, or developmental organization

  • Applicants with greater time in this field will be favored

  • Must not have any constraints on travelling to, and performing job duties, in austere locations

Must be eligible for a TS/SI security clearance
